Harriet is a vibrant family lawyer having been qualified for nearly 20 years specialising in providing robust and practical advice with a particular ability for settling contentious, financial cases.
With a preference for negotiating settlements without recourse to the court system she is dedicated to securing the best possible results for her clients and their families. That said, Harriet has a wealth of experience in taking matters through the court system where the circumstances indicate that that is what is needed to achieve the required outcome.
Having a particular interest in child contact matters, Harriet believes that the needs of the child are paramount and that there is no ‘standard’ arrangement as each family’s circumstances are unique.
Harriet is a very experienced lawyer – she
started her career training and then working with a firm in Reading before spending several years as Head of the Family team with an established practice in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. She returned to her home county of Yorkshire a number of years ago working for a firm based in York.
Harriet has, for many years, been a member of ‘Resolution’ - the highly regarded accreditation for family lawyers. Harriet has been described as approachable, focused on helping clients through a difficult time but with the steeliness essential for achieving results.
Harriet was born in Yorkshire and currently lives just outside of York placing her in an ideal location for meeting clients locally in the Wetherby, Easingwold and York areas.
Harriet is married with three children and two step sons and says ‘I have had my own experiences of family complications and am therefore able to understand the difficulties that can arise when a separation involves children’. When she has any spare time, Harriet enjoys horse riding, running and walking .
